Instead of Laundry
Look what I found in my inbox this afternoon:
========================================
FEMALE FRIENDS OF SUNSTONE,
We are looking for any and all images/photos that relate to today's LDS/Mormon women. Pix of women by themselves or with their families. Pix of single LDS women. Pix of women of all ages. Pix of women doing something they enjoy. Pix that depict something about their lives and interests, whatever they may be. Women in contemplation, doing sports, creating art, running on the beach, being a mommy, whatever.... Even pix that don't have women in them but perhaps represent an interest (photography, film, reading, scripture study, etc.)
Our plan is to create a collage of images for the next Sunstone cover (dedicated to Mormon women in 2007) and for use in various ways inside the magazine to link the diverse pieces in the women's voices section together so they feel related to each other both in content and general "look."
Please feel free to put the word out as well! We hope you will help us make a great magazine cover!
Thanks for the help.
John, Dan Wotherspoon and Kristine HaglundSunstone

I have to admit it feels very narcissistic to put together a bunch of schmaltzy images of fluffy children (almost all mine), but did that stop me? (You should see the condition of my house! What a cruel & jealous muse is creativity.)

love those pictures! you have such interesting angles. my favorite is the black and white pic down the shoot of the slide of zina and friend.
You know, I think the round metal slide made for perfect lighting conditions. I want to take all my future photos inside old metal tubes.
You, Brooklyn, should write for Sunstone. I think your post about being in your 30's should be an article. I have their contact info ...
Andi - You are a really good artistic photographer. Even if I wasn't partial to those faces I know & love, I would want to post them! I think you should get one of those electronic frames that have screensaver type electronics, add these great shots and then push the button so they can just cyle through for ever and ever (with regular updates of course!)
It was time well spent.
Carolyn - I think looking at my own pictures all day would make me crazy. It is like listening to your own CD. Think of the feeling you get when you are riding in the back seat of a car behind the driver and everytime you look up out the windshield you see yourself in the rear view mirror. Some people love it and some people hate it. I hate it.
Geo - I want to see your pictures of the ocean!
