Art Chase

I spent last Friday in downtown Provo for their gallery stroll and art chase. The streets were full of people who crawled out of their winter caves to enjoy art and street performers. The evening that tempted us all with the feel of spring. (We can dare to dream winter will end some day before July.)

It was so fun to bump into people I haven't seen in a long while. In attendance were the Mark and Elizabeth Englands ...

Chris Foster on guitar ...
Ino of Finland and her sister Sada ...

Baby Ocean :) ...
Jenelle Wride, sister-in-law to my sister...

Kristen who used to live with Marsha and Jeff the dentist ...

Assorted hipsters and friends of Cindy ...(Ruel, Damien, Mike Kelly's giant painting.)

One of my favorite stops on the Art Chase was the Coal Umbrella Vintage Boutiques and Vinyl.

These nice people run the joint and they have one of my favorite pieces of art in town. This is a giant wall canvas of a boxer and a tiger. It's probably 8 feet by 12 feet and cover the wall over the stairs. If you haven't been in, be sure to head down to 2nd N and University to check it out.

Random Gallery Stroll participants enjoy some sweet paintings and roasted marshmallows. The city had gas open fires set up with marshmallows and sticks at each of the galleries. What? Did you think they would serve wine and cheese? We're Mormons!

The whole evening was rather festive. I bet you all the saxophone player's tips that we see YOU at the next Art Chase.

What are you doing up this time of night. Love this post. The only entertainment I remember on Center Street was "Dragging Center". But it was fun.
Go to bed for heaven's sake.

Wow, you're way behind on your posting. If you want some more names, in the photo with Janelle is Danny and Mike and in the photo with Kristen and Jeff is Maren. I'm pretty sure the guy in the photo with Ruel isn't Damian because I know the curve of his face (I'm so creepy). Nice photos. It looks like Provo's gallery stroll is more put together than Salt Lake's.

Judy - We are still just "Dragging Center"!

Cindy - I have a different picture of Damian that I thought I had posted.

I'm not behind in my blogging -- just out of order. (You got great pics of Carolyn)

Andi - I'm still able to access your blog, Yahoo! Anway your friend Ino was in Uganda with Marc and my brother Justin. It was there that Justin and his wife Amy decided that Marc should become family. I was set up with Marc right after that trip - and you know the rest. The world continues to get smaller!
