Last week I got a call from fabulous Whitney. She invited me to the wedding of Andria, who is half Indian, and Jeff, a Scottish surgeon who is one of 8 children. His whole family flew in from Scotland to wait outside the temple in 20 degree weather for 5 hours. But that is another story.
(I is always a bit of a shock to the non-LDS family when the bride and groom emerge NOT from the large beautiful doors of the temple - where they were waiting and watching, but from behind them. These doors look more like they lead to the parking valets waiting room. Oh well.)
The family was full of colorful aunts,

the lovely Scottish wee barns,

and even one Paul McCartney impersonating brother.

The wedding party winded their way up the canyon to Log Haven for the dinner and reception. I heard more than one wedding guest say they thought the icicles were manufactured in a Chinese factory in July and flown to Utah especially for occasion.
Hmmm.

Of course the best decoration of all was the mere presence of Whitney and her magic touch! Until we meet again, Whit ...

Those icicles are amazing. Probably right that they are imported.
Jeff (and his clan of 8 or more) and I go back a long way, to Wales and our University Institute days! He is so smart it's freaky.
Andrea and I also crossed paths in Utah many times. Small bizzare Whitney world!
kim - I'm telling you, it is worth a trip up there just to see them.
nadia - Is he a Swanzy boy? I think all but Simeon are married. He is one of the twins. I wish you could have been there. There were lots of comments about being in Wales but not OF Wales. How funny you know Andria. Would you think of her and Jeff as the perfect match?
I'm so jelous you were there! I was planning on going and having a reunion with Simon, Rob, Craig & Chrissie (her daughter is on your blog, and don't want to be picky, but she is Welsh not Scottish. As long as you don't call her English though, you are good to go)etc...but Utah is so far away now.
We spent many days in Swansea together. Their Father is Scottish but they were raised in Wales. I miss those Gilmour brothers! Good times!
I don't know if I would put many couples together on paper, but it all seems to work out somehow. Would you have ever fixed me up with Isaac had I not known him?
I do miss you
