Motivated to action by Marco's memories of a childhood of orchards, I took the kids apple picking in our neighborhood's last orchard. Stratton's trees are about half picked and I think slated for slash and burn this winter to make way for a new batch of ticky-tacky houses. I wish we could all be like Raquel and Oliver. They have an "Urban Homestead", producing bushels and bushels of food on just 1/4 acre. So different from the growing trend to fear anything edible that comes in less than 3 wrappers. (Three wrapper food, for example, is like microwave popcorn -- bags, wrapped in plastic, sealed in a cardboard box.) Our landlord in DC just informed us that a chunk of our deposit is being with held, in part, because we "planted tomatoes, which are what RATS eat."
Enjoy the slide show. (smile and act natural)

$2000 for tomatoes?!!! that's insanity. i'd go back and vandalize the place. at least i would want to.
The thought has crossed my mind, trust me, but I have the most decent man for a husband in the world. Marco knows that someday these people will cross paths with truly bad renters. That's when they are going to feel really embarrassed about the whole affair.
maybe some of us here in dc should start toilet papering them regularly?
zanny is looking so much bigger!!! what the heck? (i said that because you are in utah). could you please come back.
and do i ever know about broadcasting dirty laundry. turns out jen's mom reads my blog. she asked me to explain that she has been working with jen "to forgive me for all the stuff i did" claiming that i left out that recently she had been trying to be nice. i decided not put anything more about it on my blog. i don't think she realizes it incriminates her.
I love your girl's little dress. It is sooo lovely. I hear you had a great time at the wedding. I wish I could have come, though I guess I don't know your cousin!
