My favorite two hours in Utah County is Priesthood Session of General Conference. I love when the city drains of all it's testosterone and rivers of estrogen run uninhibited through the streets! I like to celebrate the blessed occasion by inviting as many of my closest dozen of BYU sisters as are able to come over for good food and gossip.
We are a interesting bunch. Emily likes to call us the harem -- I prefer quorum. The list is by no means set in stone as much as set in habit. We are married, single, divorced, too fertile, not fertile enough, thin, fat, employed, broke, conservative, liberal, fast and slow. Interestingly, we have one thing in common -- we all served missions. (There again, some of us loved it and some, ... well, I will let them talk for themselves.) Maybe this is why we don't think it is such a leap to consider our friendship religious in nature.
Not long ago I ran into an old flame from high school at a Sunstone dinner. He asked me how it is that I was still "a believer" even after intellectual reflection of the church. The answer came out with out even thinking. I told him it was because of my amazing group of girl friends. They make it easy to be a believer. True story.
It's a harem of hens! . . .
ps. Thanks, gals. Who thought a bunch of 30 somethings could party until 3:30 in the morning?

Oh, I missed out. I should have stayed until the end then went home and started my day, because I got home around 12:30pm slept for about two hours then got up at 4am to get ready for an early SLC snooty breakfast my siblings do each year with a bunch of really rich people (we have to work hard not to look to hic and backwoods).
That party was great. I wish we could all live in peace and harmony all the time. I wish we were our own little relief society.
Whoopa I left a comment on your google pictures instead of your blog --- this 50 something is sometimes technologically challenged....What I intended to say here that I said there was:
Looks like a fun time.....I want to come. I liked seeing faces I met at the wedding party. Party on!
you are so lucky to have such genuinely cool friends!
What a great time. There are not enough pictures of me in that slide show. Thanks for hosting us all and putting it all together, Andi! I loved it!
Kim - Whitney told me she got home at 4:00 am! Next party will be during daylight hours, you are better during daylight hours.
Carolyn - You will have to come to my next Hen Party.
Brooklyn - You know you are a cyber-hen!
Cindy - Not enough pictures of you because you were always right next to me. I always say I can either DO the party or BE IN the party, but not both. (Plus who wants to take pictures when whitney is around. That's like wearing a swimming suit while standing next to Brooklyn!)
andi, you're so deep. that was a great night. next time we'll go out so you can be in the party.

Oh Andi - Thank you so much! I feel like I plugged my batteries into you guys all night and for the next three days. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your pulling us all together.
I also think I'm ten times my better self when I'm around the hens. That's good mojo.
