Because that is the kind of guy he is.

This last week we had the pleasure of having the la familia Mazzarella as company. We always have a bit of company but THIS company was special company. Once upon a time Marco was a missionary in Italy where he met Luciana (to the right of Marco) and Elio Mazzarella. After much consideration the young couple were baptized even though it was Italy and even though Luciana was hugely pregnant. The babe was appropriately named Marco (above dressed in red on the far right). Later came Mazzarella boy number two, Andrea (hiding to behind Marco the Younger and not named after me). Many years later Andrea was called to be a missionary in Baltimore and this week he finished his mission and was picked up by his mom, brother and his soon to be sister in law, Elisa (the darling girl with the big sale bag). Today we said goodbye and Zina blew a kiss. We PROMISED to visit them some time this year in Naples!

Here is my question. By a show of hands, how many of you still keep in touch with people you taught as a missionary? How many of you have had children named after you? How many of you can say the kid that was named after you by the person you baptized has served a mission and is getting to get married in the temple? Well, anyone? No? That is because you are not Marco Davis. This is just the kind of guy he is.

We packed the car with great care and made Xanny push them back to Italy. (He has all that four year old energy.)

Sometimes I keep in touch with someone from the mission. But only sometimes. They will never name their babies after me I am too hit or miss with my correspondence. Now, if only my name was something more appealing, like Marco...

that's pretty cool.

Yeah, the kid that was named after me will probably not serve a mission. And his mom and I don't stay in touch-- unless you count mailing out the child support checks.

My next kid going is to be named Talintha Penelope and drive a scooter at age 2. Oh wait.

That's beautiful. If one of my friends named a kid after me, undoubtedly that would be my favorite child.

Talintha Penelope?
Ok

Seriously though, there is a kid (probably a real Chi-Vato now) in Dallas, named Enos David Baltazar.

His mom makes great food, and loves to show her breasfeeding boobs to the elders.

Marco Mazzarella told me the other day that he was glad at least that I had a name that was good in Italian, and not something like Jason or Kyle....

There is a little girl in the Dominican Republic (where i served my mission) named Alisa Guzman. I had taught her parents while I was a missionary. Luckily she wasn't born a boy of the said they would have named him Todo Rojo (Allred).
unfortunately I don't keep in touch with them.

This is also a little girl living in Guatemala where I was not a missionary, but where I went first as a BYU student named Barbara Alisa Ajpacaja Tum. She is named after my mom (Barbara) and me. My mom goes by Cookie so they call her Galleta.

I keep in touch with her family ona regular basis. She is not almost 7 and she is a beautiful little girl.

I want a kid called Cookie. Yesterday they decided they were Leo and Louise.
